This morning I had no eggs and out of everything! Immediately I was trying to figure out the best way to get protein in without eggs, greek yogurt, protein powder, etc. Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein and fat. 7 grams of protein and 16 g of fat for 2 tbsp and plus the whole wheat bread has 10 grams of protein per 2 slices. You’re not doomed to protein sources if you’re out of foods like eggs! This is what I came up with, strawberry peanut butter toast, with cacao nibs and cinnamon 😉
Another thing I want to stress is getting the right whole wheat bread. So many brands claim to be healthy and ” all natural”. But the truth of the matter is, it’s just a label. You have to look at the ingredients to find out. The number one thing to look for if its real, is if the first ingredient is whole wheat flour, not enriched flour/ wheat flour. If the first few ingredients include sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or vegetable oil, it’s a highly processed bread. I tend to go for as little ingredients as possible, and which has the most fiber, because that’s whats going to keep you full!
